About NGM

NGM is a passionate creative ministry which has been in existence for 40 years

Ray and Nancy Goudie left Scotland in June 1980 with a vision to see lives transformed by the love and power of God. They started a band called Heartbeat that became a vehicle through which thousands of people came to know God for themselves. Many people were also healed physically as God supernaturally moved in their concerts/events. They changed the name to NGM during the 1980’s and in the 1990’s the vision began to grow! They trained thousands of young people in the arts throughout the following years, many of whom have gone on to work in the mainstream music industry, media, theatre world, clubland or the church.

Nancy started her innovative and unique Spiritual Health Weekends for women in 1997 and still today they remain extremely popular with women coming back year after year. Again, many each year are transformed physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally by the love and power of God.  Nancy is a sought-after speaker who has written 18 books and 6 meditation CD’s. Ray produced several creative musicals which toured the UK.

Ray sadly passed away in 2016, but Nancy continues with this life changing work. NGM continues to exist to see lives transformed through conferences, events and by supporting churches through our personnel and the many resources we produce. NGM is based in Thornbury, Bristol at Caedmon Complex our specialist performing arts venue.

Heart & Vision

Our heart is to see lives transformed

NGM loves creativity, loves God and loves people! We believe that we have been created in God’s image and that by loving God and loving people we can show a glimpse of who God is. Philippians 2 in The Message says: Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving message into the night. In all we do at ngm we want to show people who our great God is and how much he can transform each of our lives.

Whether it’s through Nancy Goudie’s Spiritual Health Weekends, days or events, or through the many books, magazines, CD’s and meditations we produce, everything we do is for the benefit of our world. We believe God is the ultimate artist and he loves creativity; because we are made in his image we too love creativity. We love our world and want to transform and create culture that helps people become more fully alive and more fully human. We live to see the world become the way God intended it to be.

History

Nancy Goudie is the CEO & co-founder of NGM. In 1980 God very clearly called Ray & Nancy to leave their home, jobs, family, friends and even their dog in Scotland and follow him on an adventure for the next 40 plus years. During their first nine months they founded the band called Heartbeat. Ray was the drummer and Nancy was one of the singers in the band. Heartbeat wrote the songs ‘Come On And Celebrate’ and ‘Heal Our Nation’ as well as many others. Through the work of Heartbeat, they literally saw thousands of lives transformed. Many became Christians and came to know and love God. Many were healed and touched physically, emotionally and spiritually by the love and power of God.

In 1985, God gave Heartbeat a deep desire for revival. During this time, they also released singles that broke into the mainstream charts. Heartbeat appeared on many radio and television shows including the BBC’s chart show, Top of the Pops. As they continued to develop in line with their growing vision to see a new generation reach for God, they changed their name in 1989 to NGM. With Heartbeat finishing in 1991, a new chapter had begun.

NGM birthed many new bands and artists including 65dba, dba, Steve, T-Girl, Andy Hunter, Hydro and Underdown amongst many others. They also established partnerships with many churches where they planted new wineskins to reach out to unchurched young people and see them develop in their faith. Many artists and musicians were sent to work with the churches to help them reach out to their community through the NGM bands and artists.

NGM also developed their unique training programmes for creatives which has seen many exciting artists released in strategic places in both the mainstream industry and in serving the church. Many of those who have been trained in NGM are now working across the world in the mainstream industries such as in the music industry, clubland, theatre world and also in the media. Others went on to work in the church as youth workers, worship leaders and pastors.

In 1997 we saw the birthing of the Nancy Goudie Spiritual Health Weekends which are rapidly expanding both in the UK and also in Spain. When Heartbeat finished, Nancy began to speak in various churches, events and conferences. As well as being a speaker, Nancy is also an author who works in TV and Radio too. She has written 18 books to date and has produced many meditation and spoken word CD’s. For many years she has produced her own Spiritual Health magazine.

Ray pioneered new musical productions such as the very successful Pop Opera luv esther. Ray also directed Broadway Live and co-wrote and produced The Prodigals which premiered at The Edinburgh Festival and went on to do a run at The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Since Ray’s death in 2016, NGM continued with productions called Jazz On Broadway and Songs from the Shows.

In 2001 Ray, Nancy and the whole of NGM completed a huge walk of faith, where they saw God release £3 million to purchase and build an amazing performing arts facility in Thornbury, just outside of Bristol, where we are based. The premier arts facility includes recording studios, performance venue, rehearsal rooms, dance studio and podcast studio. Nancy has written a book called Who Would Ever Have Thought which is autobiographical in style and tells this remarkable story as well as many other miraculous stories of provision and ministry over the last 40 years of working for God.

We work across many different denominations and have friendships with lots of national church leaders. Our main heart and vision to see lives transformed continues to run through everything we do.
